Oppo has confirmed that its upcoming A7 Pro smartphone will launch in China next week, featuring an 8,000mAh battery. The device is set to debut on September 11 at 10:00 AM local time and will be available for purchase the same day.
The announcement follows the recent launch of the Oppo A7 Pro Max and positions the standard A7 Pro as a more affordable option within the new A-series lineup.
Battery and Charging
The A7 Pro’s 8,000mAh battery is its most notable feature, a capacity that remains uncommon in mainstream smartphones. The company claims the battery will maintain at least 80% of its original capacity after approximately seven years of use.
To support the large battery, the phone is expected to offer 80W wired fast charging. It is likely to achieve a balance between battery size and portability, as the device has an anticipated weight of 204 grams and a thickness of 8.8mm.
Durability and Display
In addition to its long-lasting battery, the Oppo A7 Pro will feature an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance, making it capable of withstanding high-pressure water jets. The device is also said to have a reinforced frame with a diamond-shaped structure at all four corners to improve its resistance to physical impacts.
The phone will sport a flat OLED display, with reports suggesting a 6.57-inch 1080p panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will run on ColorOS 16, based on Android 16, out of the box.
Design and Configurations
A dedicated microsite on the Oppo China website has revealed the phone’s design, which includes a horizontal pill-shaped rear camera module housing a dual-camera setup and an LED flash. On the front, the device will feature a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera.
The Oppo A7 Pro will be offered in three color options: Desert Brown, Every Step Blossom, and Riding the Waves. It will be available in 6GB + 256GB and 8GB + 256GB RAM and storage configurations.
While a price has not been officially confirmed, some reports suggest it may be priced around 2,000 Yuan (approximately $300). The launch is set to take place on September 11 in China, with official pricing and availability details expected to be announced at that time.
